CUPE Wins the Most Votes in Manitoba Health Care Vote

CUPE wins 8 of the votes and represents 18 483 Health Care Workers

A forced vote, by the Progressive Conservative government, for health care workers’ union representation has resulted in CUPE winning eight units, totaling 18,483 members. The vote included nurses, paramedics and hospital workers across Manitoba.

Over 120 registered practical nurses, personal support workers, therapists and therapy assistants, social workers, nutrition aides and clerical staff at Hillcrest Reactivation Centre have chosen to improve their working conditions and increase their job security by joining the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
