Bill 195: The Ontario Government Power Grab

After months of putting themselves and their families at risk the Ontario Conservative Government is thanking health care workers by violating their constitutional rights and needlessly overriding the Collective Agreements bargained in good faith with hospitals and the Ontario Hospital Association.

No union took issue with the Emergency Measures that restricted some of the Collective Agreement rights when there was an actual emergency. B195 when passed will end the State of Emergency but will continue to override health care workers contracts. And this CUPE and its members take issue with.

CUPE/OCHU 5 Minute Protest of B195

Today, July 21st, 2020 CUPE health care workers held a 5 minute protest against B195. The message to the ON Conservative Government: we are tough enough to take on a pandemic so be sure we are tough enough to take on this Conservative Government to protect our Constitutional rights!
